Position start: January, 2013
We are in search of a dynamic coaches and players who has a proven track record working independently with a group of junior players and also one who functions well as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will bring experience developing junior recreational players into

tournament calibre athletes. Working within a team of five coaches, this coach will focus on the under-11 high performance players as well as adult group lessons and ladies teams. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be punctual, reliable and organized. Private lessons will be available on a limited basis.

Responsibilities
Coach High Performance players under the age of 11.
Coach Advanced players up to the age of 18.
Assist with Junior recreational players from ages 5 to 18.
Coach adult group lessons and assist with ladies team practices as assigned.

Qualifications
Tennis Certification: Coach 1 / Club Pro 1 or equivalent Minimum 3 years experience in a professional environment

Compensation

Norsk Tennisakademi – established in 2008 – is a privately owned tennis academy located in Østfold Norway, running tennis activities in Halden, Sarpsborg, Fredrikstad, Askim, Mysen and Vestli in Oslo. In total the academy has 23 outdoor tennis courts and 4 indoor courts at its disposal. We also offer our services to other clubs through the Norwegian Tennis Federation.

We are looking for a highly qualified, motivated young instructor to help promote tennis in the areas that the clubs we are cooperating with. The tennis professional position is responsible for tennis activities as assigned and directed by the Director of Tennis. The tennis professional ensures that member needs are met and that the experience we deliver is of the utmost professional quality.

The tennis professional would also assist in the design and promotion of tennis clinics, private lessons, and social events. Organize tennis clinics, private lessons and to encourage participation in the club’s tennis activities. Integrate new members into lessons, leagues and tournaments. Visit schools for promote the sport, and participate in other promotion activities. And in general assist in achieving company revenue goals.

We are looking for a young and upcoming coach with knowledge, experience, and implementation of under 10 kids tennis as well as experience developing juniors at the highest levels of competition. The person we are looking for must be flexible and willing to do a variety of activities to help tennis grow in the clubs we are cooperating with.

We are looking for a person with leadership skills and ability to work successfully under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication skills. Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude/abilities. Enthusiastic, responsible and dependable team player. Self-motivated, takes initiative; willingness to acquire new skills. Well organized and detail oriented.

The person we are looking for must be flexible in relation to work evenings and weekends. Driving license is a must. We offer a company car.

Verbal and written communication in a Scandinavian language or English to members and students is crucial. Coaches with knowledge of a Scandinavian language or native English speaking will be prioritized.

You must have working permit for Norway/Europe.

My name is Joanna Matuszczyk and I used to be a professional tennis player.

I have won several times Polish championship and was listed as #1 in Poland and #3 in Europe.

While traveling and playing around the world I got proposition to be sponsored and play in American tennis academy. I moved to America when I was 14 and played in NY tennis academy. I was around 110 on the ITF list while being 14.

When I was 15/16 I decided to finish my education and started high school in America. I was playing #1 for New England Boarding school in Kent CT. And have won every match for school in 3 years.

After I graduated I got into University of Richmond and played for my team as #1 and have led my team to win 4 years in the row the Atlantic 10 Championship. I have recently graduated from University of Richmond with the BA in Psychology.

I have taught tennis in summers and during High-school and College. I taught people of all ages and developed programs for tennis as well as tennis conditioning programs.

I am currently been working as a in-home counselor with children (psychology related work) and also teach tennis. I am very interested in coaching and working with children and adults.

The Club wishes to engage a Director of Tennis to manage and oversee all tennis programs and coaching requirements for the Club. This is a full time position.

Working closely with the Club’s Tennis and Squash Sub-Committee and reporting to the Director of Sport, the Director of Tennis will manage and oversee participation in tennis at all levels and increase tennis activity (both social and competitive) among the membership.

An ability to work in a consultative environment with enthusiasm and approachability is paramount to success. The position involves considerable interaction with members and professional coaches.

The successful applicant should possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to act professionally at all times, a successful tennis management, coaching and/or playing background that includes coaching of all ages and abilities, and an ability to manage the administration of such programs including competitions, clinics, squads, school holiday programs and Badge (interclub) tennis. He or she should also have a good understanding of a private members club environment with its multiple stakeholders (committees, members, management and staff).

Specific qualifications include being a Tennis Australia Coach Member (Level 2 minimum) or international equivalent accreditation, combined with a Club Professional, High Performance or Elite Coaching qualification. Additional tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline will be well regarded. Specific skills required extend to managerial ability in budgeting, communications and people management.
